【摘要】:Thespecificwearratesdeterminedbythistestmethodcanbeusedasaguideinrankingthewearresistanceofplasticmaterials.Thespecificwearrateisnotamaterialpropertyandwillthereforedifferwithtestconditionsandtestgeometries.Thesignificanceofthistestwilldependontherelativesimilaritytotheactualserviceconditions.Thistestmethodseeksonlytodescribethegeneraltestprocedureandtheprocedureforcalculatingandreportingdata.Note28212;Thistestconfigurationallowssteadystatespecificwearratestobeachievedveryquicklythroughtheuseofhighloadsandspeeds.ThethrustwasherconfigurationdescribedinTestMethodD3702doesnotallowfortheuseofsuchhighspeedsandloadsbecauseofpossibleoverheating(whichmaycausedegradationormelting,orboth)ofthespecimen.Despitethedifferencesintestingconfigurations,agoodcorrelationintherankingofwearresistanceisachievedbetweenthetwotests(TableX2.1).1.1Thistestmethodcoversalaboratoryproceduretomeasuretheresistanceofplasticmaterialsunderdryslidingconditions.Thetestutilizesablock-on-ringgeometrytorankmaterialsaccordingtotheirslidingwearcharacteristicsundervariousconditions.1.2Thetestspecimensaresmallsothattheycanbemoldedorcutfromfabricatedplasticparts.Thetestmayberunattheload,velocity,andtemperaturewhichsimulatetheservicecondition.1.3Weartestresultsarereportedasspecificwearratescalculatedfromvolumeloss,slidingdistance,andload.Materialswithsuperiorwearresistancehavelowerspecificwearrates.1.4Thistestmethodallowstheuseofbothsingle-andmulti-stationapparatustodeterminethespecificwearrates.1.5ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.1.6Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
