【摘要】:ThisInternationalStandardspecifiestwomethodsforthedeterminationofmercury,oneusingtin(ll)chlorideandtheothersodiumtetrahydroborateasreducingagent.Themethodsaresuitableforthedeterminationofmercuryinwater,forexampleinground,surfaceorwastewater,intheconcentrationrange0,01μg/lto1μg/l.Higherconcentrationsmaybedeterminedifthewatersampleisdiluted.Thetotalmercurycontentofthewaterisdeterminedafterdigestionofthesample.Ifonlysolublemercurycompoundsaretobedetermined,thesampleisfilteredthrougha0,45μmmembranefilterpriortodigestion.Mono-ordivalentmercuryisreducedtotheelementalformbyareducingagentsuchastin(ll)chloride,SnCl2.orsodiumtetrahydroborate,NaBH4,inanacidmedium.Elementalmercuryisthenstrippedfromthesolutionwiththeaidofastreamofinertgaswithnegligiblemercurycontentandtransportedoveranoble-metalsurfacewithalargearea,suchasgold/platinumgauze,onwhichthemercuryisadsorbed.Themercuryisreleasedbyrapidheatingoftheadsorbentandfurthertransportedinastreamofcarriergastoasuitablecuvette.Absorbancesaremeasuredatawavelengthof253,7nmintheradiationbeamofanatomicabsorptionspectrometer.Concentrationsarecalculatedusingacalibrationcurve.Inordertofullydecomposeallofthemercurycompounds,adigestionprocedureisrequired.Digestioncanbeomittedonlyifitiscertainthatthemercuryconcentrationmaybemeasuredwithoutthispretreatment.Carefulconsiderationshouldbegiventowhether,andtowhatextent,particularproblemswillrequirethespecificationofadditionalconditions.ItisabsolutelyessentialthatanalysesconductedinaccordancewiththisInternationalStandardarecarriedoutbysuitablyqualifiedstaff.Innaturalwatersources,mercurycompoundsgenerallyoccuronlyinverysmallconcentrationsoflessthan0,1μg/l.Higherconcentrationsmaybefound,forexample,inwastewater.Bothinorganicandorganiccompoundsofmercurycanbepresent.Mercurymayaccumulateinsedimentandsludge.
