【摘要】:1.1Thispracticecoverscertified,tested,commercialtype,EMSSambulancesbuiltonchassisthataresuitablefortheintendedapplicationandmeettherequirementsherein.Theambulancesarefrontorrearwheeldriven(4x2)orfourwheeldriven(4x4)andwarrantedasspecifiedinSection9.1.1.1DefinitionofAmbulance8212;Anambulanceisavehicleforemergencymedicalcarewhichprovides:adriver''scompartment;apatientcompartmenttoaccommodateanemergencymedicaltechnician(EMT)/paramedicandtwolitterpatients(onepatientlocatedontheprimarycotandasecondarypatientonafoldinglitterlocatedonthesquadbench)sopositionedthattheprimarypatientcanbegivenintensivelife-supportduringtransit;equipmentandsuppliesforemergencycareatthesceneaswellasduringtransport;two-wayradiocommunication;and,whennecessary,equipmentforlightrescue/extricationprocedures.Theambulanceshallbedesignedandconstructedtoaffordsafety,comfort,andavoidaggravationofthepatient''sinjuryorillness.1.1.2Thispracticemaybeusedtoprocureanambulanceandtheapplicableadditionalsystemsandequipment.1.1.3Purchasersshouldfollowtheorderingdatain9.2toaidthemwiththepreparationoftheirprocurementspecification,requisition,andcontract.Thepurposeofthispracticeistodescribeminimumrequirementsfordesign,construction,performance,equipment,testing,andappearanceofEMSSambulancesthatareauthorizedtodisplaythex201C;StarofLifex201D;symbolsoastoprovideapracticaldegreeofstandardization.Thereasonsforsuchstandardizationaretoprovideambulancesthatareeasilydetected,nationallyrecognizable,properlyconstructed,easilymaintained,and,whenappropriatelyequipped,willenableEmergencyMedicalTechnicians(EMTs)tosafelyandreliablyperformtheirfunctionsasbasicandadvancedprehospitallifesupportprovidersassetforthinnationalEMSSstandardtrainingguidelines.Thesefunctionsinclude:1.1.3.1Respondingto,providingappropriatebasicoradvancedlifesupport,on-site,topersonsreportedexperiencingacuteinjuryorillnessinapre-hospitalsetting,andtransportingthem,whilecontinuingsuchlifesupportcare,toanappropriatemedicalfacilityfordefinitivecare.1.1.3.2Providinginterhospitalcriticaltransportcare.1.1.3.3Transportingessentialpersonnelandequipmenttoandfromthesiteofamultiplemedicalemergencyoratriagesiteandtransportingappropriatelytriagedpatientstodesignatedmedicalfacilities.1.1.3.4OtherfunctionsdeemedappropriatebyEMSSambulanceservicemanagersandapprovedbydesignatedEMSSmedicaldirectors.1.2x201C;StarofLifex201D;Certification8212;Ambulancemanufacturer/contractorshallfurnishthepurchaser(s)citingthispracticeanauthenticatedcertificationandlabel(see6.19)thatcertifiesax201C;StarofLifex201D;ambulanceandequipmentcomplyingwiththispracticeandapplicableamendments(ifany)ineffectonthedateofmanufacture(see7.3).Ambulancevehiclessocertifiedmaydisplaytheregisteredx201C;StarofLifex201D;symbol,asdefinedbytheU.S.DepartmentofTransportation(DOT)andtheNationalHighwayTrafficSafetyAdministration(NHTSA),seeFig.1.1.3Classif......
